Go Green! March 17th
All students and staff are invited to go green on March 17 to celebrate...St. Gators’ Day! Lamar CISD is thrilled to launch the new secondary complex, home to the Green Track Gators. This is a significant milestone for Lamar CISD, and we need your support. Capture the fun and tag @LamarCISD with your best game face using #GetEmGators. We encourage all our Lamar CISD community to help us celebrate.

Approved Instructional Calendars!
During the February Board Meeting, the board approved the student instructional calendar for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years.

Important Message: Device Policy
Dear Mustang Families,

We appreciate your partnership in maintaining a focused and distraction-free learning environment. As a reminder, all electronic devices must remain in student backpacks for the duration of the school day unless otherwise directed by a teacher or administrator. Device use is only permitted during breakfast and lunch.
We have noticed an increase in device usage during transitions, which is not allowed. Please take time this weekend to review the policy with your Mustang and reinforce the importance of compliance.

Telecommunications Device Policy
🔹 Devices must remain in backpacks throughout the school day.
🔹 Devices are NOT allowed during transitions.
🔹 Teachers may allow devices in class strictly for instructional purposes.
🔹 Unauthorized or disruptive use of devices will result in confiscation and disciplinary action.

Offense Consequences
1️⃣ 1st Offense – Parent contact; phone confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
2️⃣ 2nd Offense – Parent contact; phone confiscated; parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee.
3️⃣ 3rd Offense – Parent contact; phone confiscated; parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee; student assigned ISS.
4️⃣ 4th Offense – Parent contact; phone confiscated; parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee; student suspended.
5️⃣ 5th Offense & Beyond – Parent contact; phone confiscated; parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee; student recommended for ALC placement.

Infractions do not reset throughout the school year. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with your student.

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Equipment operators manage safe, efficient loading of domestic and international containers at Intermodal facilities, handling ground tasks, hostling, and lift operations.
 
IDEAL CANDIDATE: Enjoys physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions, is open to shiftwork, and has experience with heavy equipment or as a shunt/long-haul driver.
This role requires operating terminal equipment like shunt trucks, pickups, fuel trucks, trailers, chassis, forklifts, and sweeper trucks. We are looking for persons with a strong safety mindset, as this role works within an environment of heavy equipment and constant flow of traffic.
