Mission Statement

The mission of Lamar Consolidated ISD Libraries is to create a physical and digital environment in which our students, staff, and community can strengthen their natural inquisitive nature, foster a love of reading, and serve as a collaborative resource for teachers and staff in developing and delivering powerful learning experiences across all curricular areas.

Goals and Vision
It is the goal and vision of Lamar Consolidated High School's Library Media Program to:

  • provide an attractive, welcoming environment.
  • provide a well-organized and comprehensive collection that meets the needs of the faculty and student body.
  • encourage collaboration between the media specialist and faculty to integrate information, media literacy, and technology skills into all curricular areas.

Students may check out up to 3 books for 2 weeks at a time. If more time is needed, students can bring books into the library to recheck them as long as there is not a hold request.

Students can return books into the book slot at the library circulation desk underneath the “Book Return” sign.

Students are responsible for the cost of damaged books in order for them to be replaced.

Students are responsible for the cost of lost books in order for them to be replaced.

Students can recommend books to be added to the LCHS Library collection by filling out the “Book Recs” slip on the library circulation desk. The titles will be reviewed in accordance with the LCHS Selection Policy to determine if the book will be added to the Collection.

Students can view the lunch schedule in the Library Canvas Course. An annoucement is posted each 6 weeks. The schedule is also posted outside the library doors on the Library News bulletin board. The scuedule is subject to change based on the campus needs and librarian’s schedule.
