Leadership Transition at LCHS!
Dear Mustang Family,

I am excited to share some important leadership updates for Lamar Consolidated High School. After three years of dedicated leadership as Principal of Lamar CHS, Mrs. Sierra King has been named the Director of Community Relations for Lamar CISD.

Mrs. King has been a transformational leader, bringing a creative and communication-driven approach to education. Her passion for engaging students, staff, and families through innovative and dynamic communication strategies has made a lasting impact on the LCHS community. Her ability to connect with stakeholders, amplify student and staff achievements, and foster a positive and inclusive school culture make her an excellent fit for her new role. In her position as Director of Community Relations, she will continue serving Lamar CISD by strengthening connections between our schools, families, and community partners.

With this transition, I am pleased to announce that Mr. Mike Semmler, currently the Principal of Lamar Junior High, has been named the next Principal of Lamar Consolidated High School.

Mr. Semmler brings an impressive 28 years of experience in education, including:

  • Three years as a classroom teacher
  • Two years as an instructional technologist
  • Three years as an assistant principal
  • 20 years as a principal

He holds both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of South Dakota and has dedicated his career to student achievement, instructional excellence, and building strong school communities. His extensive leadership experience and commitment to student success and teacher development make him an outstanding choice to lead Lamar Consolidated High School.

Mr. Semmler is excited to join the LCHS community and is eager to work alongside staff, students, and families to continue the school’s tradition of excellence, pride, and Mustang spirit. This spring, he will reach out with details about a meet and greet opportunity to connect with parents and staff.

Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Sierra King on her new role and in welcoming Mr. Mike Semmler as the new principal of Lamar Consolidated High School! We look forward to an exciting future ahead.

Sincerely,

Ben Hernandez
Blue Track Area Superintendent
